The Fantastic Four Project was an interesting way to explore the different art techniques and designs I could have explored. In doing this project, I painted, sketched, worked digitally as well as physically with clay.

I think the project was pretty fun. My Heart projects represented childhood nostalgia through the same subject. I thought about what I liked back then and what kids tend to imagine, so I incorporated space. Utimately, I was trying to mix in reality as well as one's childhood imagination. I used digital art this whole year, so working on it with Photoshop was not that bad. However, I haven't really sketched and done large scale drawings in a while. It was good to touch up on some skills, which will definitely come in handy next year.
My Head Projects on the other hand, focused on mythology.

This artwork is based on the tragedy of Achilles and his lover Patroclus. I painted this using both acrylic and oil paints. This was kind of difficult as it was my second oil painting I had ever done, and drawing humans and hands, let alone painting them was rough. I think I did pretty well though, I wish I could have conveyed the sadness in Achilles better, but it was overall not bad.
My second artwork is of Icarus, after he had flew too close to the Sun because of his pride and hubris.

Honestly, initially I wanted to do the story of Eros and Psyche, but I think I wanted to go back to my "roots" in the end. My first digital art project portrayd Icarus, and so I wanted to do the same story again but through clay. This piece was hard too, It took a lot of hard wire and clay, and it wasn't even good clay, it was Clayola Clay. The clay kept breaking constantly and it was my first time scultping and working on a clay scultpure. It was also hard to add the wings, as the wings were really heavy compared to the body.
I'm pretty proud of my Head projects because I took the challenge to do something new.
