I love Star Wars, truly one of the best franchises out there. But honestly, this movie poster design is not it.
What I do like about it is how bold the title is, the logo is very distinct and understandable, even with different colors are being used. The lightsaber making the cross is such a cool art choice too, it kind of separates the parts of the poster, but I personally think it works well. (Mr. D'Urbino thought so too!) They made Darth Vader so ominous, which is great because he really was. (the newer stuff though-)
However, the hierarchy below the title is all over the place. The text are not really lined up; some things are randomly bolded, and some are not. Also, some of the names that worked on the movie are in the center, wheras some others are more on the side. In addition, the text looks really close to the end of the poster. Overall, the art looks nice, but the text placement and hierarchy? Not so much.
This poster looks really good. Its slogan is placed in the center and is in a different color from the title, which makes it different and easier to read. The title itself is very bold and big, it is very close to the edge, but somehow I think it works for the theme of horror.
The poster uses gestalt properties well, spliting between the guy and the art in the bottom. It is also interesting as it only utilizes three colors, black, white, and red, which again goes back to the theme of horror. It is really eye-catching and the circle loop in the back makes it static or like an optical illusion.
