Career Post - Art Teacher

An art teacher is someone who educates people how to develop their artistic skills and how to use those skills in expression. An art teacher, since it is a teaching profession, requires for a Bachelor's degree in Education, sometimes a degree in Art, and certifications and training or experience in art. Some schools, however, do not require this. Some college majors that provide this training is art history, art foundations, graphic design, photography or many other forms of art. With being an art teacher, there are many specfic forms to teach students, like some explore all forms of art, but some just focus on photography, or digital art. Schools in the area that has visual or performing arts programs are Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), University of Richmond, Maryland Institute College of Art, but some top programs are Rhode Island School of Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and California Institute of the Arts.
